Chapelford residents shocked after taxi driver caught on camera

CHAPELFORD residents are furious after a taxi driver was spotted urinating in the road in broad daylight.

The driver, who was driving a car associated with Britannia Taxis which is based in Prescot, was photographed stopping at a junction in a residential area and then relieving himself behind the door of his vehicle.

People on Facebook have said that two women walked past just as he was zipping up his shorts.

One resident said: “Just disgusting! If you're desperate go to McDonald's or the pub and bob in for the loo but not on someone's road, what is wrong with some people?”

Another said: “He drives round all day so not quite as easy as someone in an office but to stop in the middle of a street and do it in full view, behind a door or not, is hardly the best place to do it is it.

“Would you appreciate your kids looking out the bedroom window or playing out in the street and seeing that?”

A spokesman for Britannia Taxis said: "We are dealing with the incident in house and we do not condone this behaviour."

The company said that all of their drivers are licensed by Knowsley Borough Council and the firm is working closely with the council to deal with the issue.
