today east midlands trains banned all taxis from station property although they are allowed to pick up and drop off on the public road nearby. This follows the problems at Melton Mowbray and whilst there is no official confirmation from station staff that this is the reason it is believed to be part of a new get tough policy from east midlands trains on the Leicester to Peterborough section which they manage

Are you saying that customers can't be dropped off or picked up at the station or that taxis are not allowed to rank at the station? If it is the former then the press might like it.

the former BUT the public highway albeit double yellow lines is just yards from the station forecourt and i think the press is the last place to go bearing in mind what happened in Melton a difficult situation might be further inflamed
