Can I put a sign in my cab saying "only English money accepted" youd be a fool to refuse any money, its all good..and if your not happy with it a bank will exchange it or you could even pop it in a Ladbrokes gaming machine and then straightaway hit the Witdraw button and you'll can exchange your £xx receipt for an English note where ever you are in England. |

Scottish bank notes are legal currency in the UK but not legal tender! How would you like it if you went to Scotland and your English £20 note was refused? People get tender and currency easily confused |

AS GBC says accept and offload at a filling station although technically you should retain the notes and pay them into a bank. I even once many moons ago was forced to accept Northern ireland £5 notes and yes they also are legal currency in the UK

Yes. According to the Bank of England these notes are "legal currency and can be accepted throughout the United Kingdom. They are authorised and approved by the UK Parliament, a position that was established by legislation as long ago as 1845."daily telegraph 27/08/16 |

Reebokstar wrote: Would you refuse Scotch money for a fare in England? Can I put a sign in my cab saying "only English money accepted" I wouldn't, but when I get them they simply go towards my fuel. In fact my gambler mate thinks they bring him luck. |
