Karhoo taxi app 'bigger than Uber after just three months'

A new app that has signed up dozens of London minicab firms today claimed it has grown bigger than rival Uber in its first three months.

Karhoo founder Daniel Ishag said that 90 days after its launch it has 33,000 cars in London available to users, with 7,000 bookings made through the app every day. Uber has around 30,000 active licensed drivers in London.

Mr Ishag also claimed the business has a weekly turnover of £750,000 with more than 140,000 app downloads.

He said: “The fleets we work with are getting more business. The consumers are getting more choice from one app than they have ever had before.

“The figures we are seeing just 90 days from launch are hugely pleasing. This progress shows just how important it was to level the playing field.”

However, industry sources pointed out that Uber has more than two million regular users with more than a million weekly trips.

£25 per car is not what I would call a great success

I think their commission is about 10 percent so maybe if they take a few more drivers off uber they might recruit some of their customers too as they will offer more available cars
