Taxi driver accused of sex with girl, 14 A taxi driver from Walsall allegedly befriended a vulnerable girl before having sex with her, a court heard. Nawaz Ahmed, aged 36, is accused of having sex with the 14-year-old three times and taking a category A picture of them having sex on his mobile phone. Wolverhampton Crown Court was shown a video of a police interview with the girl in which she said she had not resisted sex with him – but had been ‘like a ragdoll’ when it look place. The offences are said to have taken place over about a fortnight in 2014. Prosecutor Mr Peter Arnold told the court that the teenager was able to tell police about distinctive features relating to A1 City Cars driver Ahmed, of Hucker Road, Pleck. She had been unsure about where the defendant lived initially but when taken there by officers she pointed out his property immediately, without any hesitation, he added. Mr Arnold also revealed that the girl is on the autistic spectrum and also suffers from an anxiety disorder. In his opening speech to the jury, Mr Arnold added: “She says she was a customer in his taxi and chatted her up. "He said ‘you’re cute, you’re sexy’, asked for her mobile phone number.” In the police video of the girl she recalled having sex with the man and also talked of an occasion on which she was left in his home alone. According to Mr Arnold, Ahmed had taken an explicit image on his mobile and then deleted it. But it was later found by police. The court heard Ahmed had admitted in a police interview on December 12, 2014 that he had given the girl lifts in his taxi but denied having sex with her. Ahmed denies three counts of sexual activity with a child and another of taking indecent photographs of a child. He was granted bail. The case continues. 'She sent me an indecent photo', says Walsall taxi driver accused of sex with girl aged 14 A Walsall taxi driver who allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl initially denied knowledge of her then admitted they had met, in a police interview, a court heard. Nawaz Ahmed, aged 36, is accused of three counts of having sexual activity with a child and another of taking an indecent image of a child. The girl, who is now 16 and has learning difficulties, told a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court that she felt she had been ‘groomed’ by the man, who had initially picked her up with family members. Ahmed formerly worked for A1 City Cars in Bloxwich between March or April 2014 but since his arrest in December 2014 has worked as a delivery driver. She said Ahmed, of Hucker Road, was aware of her age and that she was just a child. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: “He said: ‘how old are you?’ He asked me and I said.” But Ahmed, who spoke through a translator, denied ever having sex with the girl and that the indecent picture he is accused to have taken was sent to him by her. Asked about the photo by his barrister Mr Mohammed Hafeez, Ahmed said: “I felt ashamed. I deleted it straight away. I think it was more than one but I had not seen more than one.” And Ahmed told the court that he had received suggestive text messages from the girl but asked her mother to tell her to stop. The case continues. Read more at http://www.expressandstar.com/news/crim ... zRBHvw4.99 |

Not guilty: Taxi driver cleared of sex with a child hits out at 'police incompetence' A man cleared of having sex with a child has hit out at ‘pure police incompetence’ after he said the investigation disrupted his life for nearly two years. Nawaz Ahmed was accused by a 14-year-old girl of having sex with her three times between August and October 2014 but was cleared by a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court this week. Mr Ahmed, a former taxi driver for Walsall based A1 City Cars, was first arrested by police in December 2014 over the allegations – which included a charge of taking an indecent image of a child – and had to report to officers three times a week. The delivery driver, of Hucker Road, Walsall, was unable to travel to Pakistan to visit his wife and two children after his arrest as part of bail conditions. But he said he would be on the first flight out of the country to see them following his acquittal on Thursday. He burst into tears and thanked the jury after he was cleared. He told the Express & Star: “It has obviously been a very difficult time for me and my family – and has been unduly delayed because of pure police incompetence. "That caused such long delay and I was on bail with requirements to remain in the UK, unable to see my wife and children.” The girl, who is now 16 and has special needs, told the court she was unable to remember how many times she had sex with Mr Ahmed, who she first met when he picked her and her family up in his taxi. He had always denied any sexual contact with the girl. The prosecution presented two police videos from 2014 in which the teenager described having sex with the Ahmed and him taking a photo of her performing a sex act on him. Mr Ahmed said: “It is not just unfair on me, it is the other person too. This is a vulnerable young girl. "We have thoughts for her, she clearly needs assistance. This court process has clearly not helped her in any form. “It is only the police and the CPS to blame.” A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “This complex case was investigated in a diligent and professional manner, resulting in extensive evidence being presented to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). “The CPS then decided that evidence was strong enough to bring about a prosecution. Our criminal justice system quite rightly demands a very high standard of proof and we acknowledge the verdict from the jury “Our priority is and will always be to pursue the right and proper course of action in the interests of public safety and justice.” Read more at http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2016 ... 6G6jxFC.99 |

The police subsequently found this image. Now my question is, if they found that image, why did they not find the image that girl alleges he took of her performing a sex act on him? I would have thought that this image would have been the crucial part of the prosecution evidence..............if it existed. |

he was though in possession of an indecent image of a child ![]() For this to be on his phone he would either have had to take the image himself or have provided the girl with his number so she could send it to him personally i think he got away with it

Mr Ahmed, a former taxi driver for Walsall based A1 City Cars surely business cards would have had this number on not his personal mobile ? |

I think the police needed to be seen to be trying to protect the public and did not investigate as thourough as they should have done they didn't want to be tarred with the same brush as those up north. |
