Gang threw eggs at taxi before attacking cabbie in MeirFive youths hurled eggs at a taxi
Police are hunting a gang of yobs as young as 12-years-old who hurled eggs at a moving taxi before attacking the cabbie and stealing his takings.
Five youths chucked the eggs at the blue Toyota Avensis as it was carrying a fare along Weston Road, in Meir, towards Longton.
When the drive stopped to remonstrate, he was assaulted.
One of the passengers then tried to help at which point a youth climbed in the taxi and stole cash.
Now officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which took place at around 4.45pm on Sunday (October 30).
The youths were aged between 12 and 15-years-old and one wore a red top.
