I wonder how much Uber pays her? Maybe the equavilent of five Uber slaves? Since when has a private hire company ( remember they're not a technology company) needed high level PR people ?

Apparently the poor serfs at Uber are now being hit hard by the night tube.

This development should be welcomed, because quantity restrictions should never have existed in the first place. There was never a sound economic justification for them

If only it was just for economic reasons that quantity restrictions were implemented, that would be fine, but generally it's not just economic.

Quote:
Recent market innovations make reform of taxi regulation urgent. The principles of such reform should be decentralisation, to facilitate trialand-error and fitness for local conditions; a one-tier system of regulation, as the old separation between taxis and private hire is obsolete; technology neutrality; and a preference for private governance, which has proven so successful in app-based services.

Oh lets subject the public to good old 'trail and error', I like the way he thinks it's akin to taking all the labels of everything and seeing who survives

Dr Kristian Niemietz joined the IEA in 2008 as Poverty Research Fellow, becoming its Senior Research Fellow in 2013 and Head of Health and Welfare in 2015

It seems to me, after reading his report, that Dr Kristian Niemietz has forgotten all about poverty and health & welfare or he is clearly using his knowledge to help large companies to enslave drivers so they can make a fortune from them

unfortunately the links don't work for me so couldn't read up but it sounds to me as if uber are gearing up to bamboozle the government and public alike into changing taxi legislation to suit their business model
