Driver with criminal convictions granted licence to drive a taxi or a private hire vehicle

A DRIVER with criminal convictions has been granted a licence to drive a taxi and/or a private hire vehicle.

The Dual Driver's Licence was granted by Cotswold District Council licensing sub-committee yesterday at 10am.

yes plenty of drivers out there with convictions but there is a big difference between something like kerb crawling and rape or murder it depends how serious the offence was

As he has been granted a TAXI drivers license someone in that Council area should go to the Council offices request to see the TAXI(hackney carriage)register,this by LAW must contain every proprietor,driver and criminal offences committed by them.

As he has been granted a TAXI drivers license someone in that Council area should go to the Council offices request to see the TAXI(hackney carriage)register,this by LAW must contain every proprietor,driver and criminal offences committed by them.

Only details of the drivers name, badge number and the expiry date. same here years ago when we were trying to establish a trade association (unsuccessfully) we obtained a copy it had Names,Addresses and badge numbers

From how I read what you have put the council must be told who is driving what vehicle on any date. So am I supposed to write to the council every day with a list of who is driving what vehicle and the council must put this information into a book every day?

We are in 2016 not 1847. The plate holders can sign away their rights if they so wish, but they can't sign their drivers rights away.

I have no confidence that any councils really knows what they are doing. However I've managed to read the bits in the Human Right's Act about private life.
