Passengers swindle taxi driver by paying fare with biscuit wrappers By the time the cabbie realised he'd been conned the two men had run off Two men swindled their way out of a taxi fare by paying the driver with BISCUIT WRAPPERS. According to police, instead of handing over cash when the passengers reached their destination in Manchester city centre , they took packaging out of their pockets pretending it was money. They handed the wrapping to the unsuspecting driver, got out of the car and fled. It wasn’t long before the cabbie realised he’d been conned, but by this time the two men had run away towards London Road. Inspector Phil Spurgeon, of GMP City Centre , said the incident happened at around 2.20am on Sunday morning, and that it had been reported to them just after 12 noon that day. He said the two suspects were described as being black, but that there were no further details as to the ages or fare at this time as the victim was still awaiting interview. GMP City Centre wrote on Twitter: “Taxi incidents last night include 2am job where two men gave driver biscuit wrappers pretending it was money, then ran off towards London Road.” The tweet was met by puns from many users. Paul Gill posted: “These guys are real jammy dodgers...” Liz Bowman added: “Now that is taking the biscuit... did he pic pic pick up some penguins?” User ‘You’ said: “Are they Jaffa-in a laugh.” The GMP team replied saying: “Sorry, driver has been ripped off, so not appropriate for us to join in with any puns. We’re just highlighting the scam...” source: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... g-12203822 |

Such a "nice" bloke bet he described them as "bourbon"colored"jammy dodgers" and he must have been"cream crackered" and in need of a cup of"rich tea" to have not noticed |

now if it had been someone with a ginger nut the police might have spotted him hobnobbing along the road stopped him and asked him if he was short (of) bread told him to get his (Chocolate) Finger out or it would be a ride in the jaffa cake van to the cells for a cup of (rich) tea and a custard cream |
