An Ormskirk man has issued a warning after his girlfriend was allegedly propositioned by a Southport taxi driver.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, says his partner was on her Christmas work do on Tuesday night (December 13).
He said: "She left Avenue bar at around 1.30am and proceeded to get a taxi.
"The driver took her around the back rounds - a peculiar route - he slowed right down and then asked if she would go home with him and pay for the fare with sex.
"When she refused he carried on trying to pressure her into it, saying crude things and inviting her to sit in the front with him."
The woman is said to be distraught and worried for her life. She will not use a taxi again.
Her partner continued: "There should be stricter procedures in place. Imagine if she didn't get home safe, imagine if it was your daughter."
