Taxi driver was 'drug dealing on the side' after hundreds of pounds of cannabis found A taxi driver’s drug dealing was rumbled when he was pulled over by police officers who found cannabis in his car. Abdul Qadir, aged 33, from Bean Road, Dudley, was driving his Skoda with his girlfriend in the passenger seat along the town’s Priory Road on January 12. He was stopped and, after finding two small bags of cannabis in the car, officers searched his house. He was found to be in possession of a total of 46.5g of the drug, worth £470 in street value. Wolverhampton Crown Court heard he had avoided prison for an almost identical incident in 2009, when he was pulled over by police, who subsequently found 55g of cannabis, worth £550 on the street. Prosecutor Mr Jas Mann, speaking in court, said: “Officers found two large bags of cannabis in his bedroom, one containing 22.7g, worth about £230 on the street, and another containing 18.8g, worth about £190. Three more smaller bags worth about £30 in total were found in the house, making it a total of 46.5g. “He told police that he had it for his own personal use, and the money was lent to him by his brother for tyres.” Qadir pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and was handed eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months. He must also carry out 120 hours of community service Defence barrister Mr James Fraczyk said: “His history is an aggravating feature against him. He was previously taking Class A drugs and had a problem with Class B drugs but his habits have improved.” Read more at http://www.expressandstar.com/news/crim ... L1ZfKDv.99 |

Driving a taxi/PH must be the best cover for being a drug dealer. Surprise more aren't at it. |

That's what happens when people go on about cannabis being safe etc. If he had been caught with class A it would have been a lot more. |

Just how much would a case like this cost to get through the courts? Presumable because it was heard at a Crown court, it would have been through the Magistrates first. It must have cost a fortune. |

He pleaded guilty at Crown Court so no jury costs. I suspect the Crown Court Judge took about 30 mins of his day dealing with this. Longest bit would have been the probation report, and they are now privatised, so that shouldn't have cost too much. |
