The latest topic of conversation between drivers here is that a chap has been granted a taxi drivers badge even though he has a recent conviction for threatening someone with a kitchen knife. By recent I mean within the last 3 years. It seems strange that some people can't get a badge because they defrauded the Council out of benefits but someone who threatened a member of the public with a large knife is granted one. |

Story in the Sunday Post of similar nature but is about Charity Trustees, appointed persons had convictions of all natures, fiddled £1000s for their own benefit, the only thing stopping anyone being appointed as a Charity Trustee is a conviction for fraud or dishonesty. It beggars belief the positions some serious criminals can obtain legally. |

If you look at various things outside of the box you will see that any crime related to the "Crown" is treated totally different to any similar public crime! Hence why we have people questioning "Do we have a two tier law system"......the answer being YES we do - The great Train robbers being a classic

It would be interesting if someone dropped an anon message to the local press.

I find it very strange down here that one of the most heinous non violent offences stopping people getting a license is... Using a radio scanner?
