Bradford in yorkshire

PLANS have been submitted to turn a hairdressers in Bradford into a 24-hour private hire taxi cab booking office.

Applicant Arshad Majid states the new business on Towngate, Wyke, would use seven cars and create jobs for 17 employees – up to three based in the office and 14 drivers.

The plans state that vacant land next to the hairdressers would be turned into a car park for the business.

A design statement reads: “It has clearly been demonstrated that the proposal is compatible with the site and surroundings, will not bring about negative amenity impacts, and can be easily accommodated by the local highway network.

“The proposal will help generate economic growth, benefiting the local community through job creation.”

Bradford Council planners are set to make a ruling on the plans by Friday, February 17.
