In the Welsh SWWITCH home to school transport code of conduct it states that transport operators should "never drop the pupils at the school without formally handing them over to a responsible member of staff".


if the school was not open the driver would have found out pretty quickly IF he/she always handed the child over to teachers as is NORMAL PRACTISE on primary school contracts

Read this twice a Driver leaves a 5 YEAR OLD CHILD on her own, CRIMINAL in my view he should most certainly be banged up :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

And the Company closed DOWN obviously dangerous practices have become the NORM with them NOT FIT AND PROPER you bet CLOSE THEM DOWN >>>>>>NOW!!!

I'm certainly not saying the driver isn't a plank, but it seems he is the only one getting stick.

Don't happen that way here....You never see a Teacher at that time of morning, they are all inside nice N cosy.

Well you need to kick up a stink till it does happen because if something was to happen to one of the kids you drop of where do you think the finger of blame is going to point first, if the parents are reasonably responsible adults I would tell them first and also get something sent by email to the education department or pupil transport.

I would assume all school contracts have similar conditions,driver and escort if one is required are acting as corporate parents and doing so must hand their charges over to a responsible person.This applies to delivering to school or when returning them home.

You should never assume anything.
We sometimes have a problem when dropping one of our special needs students at home in the afternoon. There are 3 students in the car and this one is the first to be dropped off. There are several miles between drop offs. Now sometimes when we get to the drop off the parent isn't at home. What provision would you assume is in place for such an event?

This is where we have the next problem. This child is incontinent and can't make it round the rest of the drops and back into the town to get to the police station because we don't have a local social services anymore.
