Man posed as taxi driver to sexually assault woman near Crown Inn pub in Catshill, Bromsgrove The driver told the woman he was her taxi driver, and then reportedly sexually assaulted her. POLICE are on the hunt for an imposter taxi driver, who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on her way home from the Crown Inn pub on Sunday night. At around 9.20pm on January 22, the 30-year-old woman ordered a taxi to take her home, after visiting the Catshill pub with friends. A car pulled up and, when the woman asked if it was her taxi, the driver said yes and she got into the front passenger seat. As they drove away, the man, who police believe was not a taxi driver, put his hand on her thigh. The woman asked him to stop the car and she got out and returned to the pub. She was not injured but understandably shaken by the incident. West Mercia Police is now appealing for witnesses to find the man, who is described as white, in his early 30s, with short blonde hair and a side-swept fringe. He had stubble on his face and spoke slowly with a stutter. Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who was outside the Crown Inn on Stourbridge road at the time and might hae seen the car or its driver.
