Taxi drivers are being asked if they might have seen a man who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

Police are appealing to taxi and private hire vehicle drivers if they have seen 24-year-old Deakon Wilkins, who went missing in the early hours of Saturday, January 14.

Deakon had left Motion nightclub around 4.30am, and was seen heading into the city centre.

Extensive searches have been carried out on land and in water since Deakon was reported missing.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "We're now asking any taxi drivers or private hire vehicle drivers to come forward if they picked up a fare or were flagged down by anyone in the Cattle Market Road area of Bristol between 4.30am and 7am on 14 January.

"We'd also like to speak to any drivers who picked up a fare from a man matching Deakon's description, or who may have taken a man to Horfield or Weston-super-Mare during this timeframe."

Deakon is described as white, of medium build, about 5ft 10ins tall, with ginger hair and has a tattoo between his neck and chest of the word "Rush".

He was last seen wearing a red fitted jumper, black smart blazer, dark jeans and red trainers.

If you see Deakon, please call 999 and provide the call handler with the reference number 5217012724.

If you are a taxi driver or private hire vehicle driver and have any information which could help the police, please call 101 quoting the same reference number.
