DADDY, WHAT HAPPENED? Savage thugs batter taxi driver dad after he asked them to stop setting fire to his seats

A TAXI driver’s children have been left horrified after their dad was left with bloody gashes to his face from a brutal attack at the hands of two passengers.

Sheikh Arbaz was horrifically battered after he asked two customers in his cab to stop burning the back seats with a lighter while taking them home in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

But the passengers demanded money before punching the 43-year-old in face – with the attack only coming to an end after residents, who heard the taxi driver’s screams, rushed out to help.

The father-of-four managed to make it home with Shaz Saleem, chairman of the Dudley Private Hire & Taxi Association, saying: “It’s heartbreaking. When he got home, his two daughters aged three and five were absolutely shocked to see his face and they were like ‘Daddy, what happened?’

Mr Arbaz, who drives for ABM Taxis, picked the pair up from his firm’s base near Stourbridge town centre and they originally asked to be taken to the Village Hotel in Dudley, West Midlands on about 4.30am on February 4.

But the pair then changed their minds, asking to go to Hallchurch Road, Dudley – where they started to burn the taxi’s seats with a lighter.
