Q Cars taxi firm has licence revoked over 'public safety' concerns image: http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/images/l ... -large.jpg Alex Grove By Hull Daily Mail Hull Daily Mail | Thu 09 Feb 2017 A family-run taxi firm that has been in operation for 25 years has had its licence revoked in the interests of public safety. Q Cars, which labels itself as Bridlington's largest taxi and private hire firm, has had its licence revoked by East Riding Council. The company, which apparently takes more than 5,000 bookings per week locally and nationally, is reportedly planning to appeal against the decision. It has 21 days to lodge this appeal with the council. A spokesman for East Riding Council said: "There has been concerns around the operation of a private hire business and so a decision has been made to revoke the private hire operators licence in the interest of public safety." The decision made by the council will not affect drivers who can continue to operate under their own licences. Q Cars has not responded to a request for comment. [edited by admin] poor reporting at Best this office is 28 miles from Hull on the East Coast in Bridlington I spoke to a driver that works for Q cars And the owner and the senior licensing Manager Have issues going back a long way And the way he tells it its a techicallity who owns the company IE name on the operator license. In the fullness of time the story come out Q cars have filed for appeal and working as normal Ps; I Believe the Q cars owner has a Hotel in Brid and his Alcohol license has been Pulled on a unrelated Issue So at this moment in time he will not be a happy Bunny |
