Mum writes touching apology note to taxi driver after her son was caught on camera running off without paying

The mother of a man who fled from a taxi without paying has penned a touching note to the driver apologising for her son's actions.

Taxi driver Steve Wee picked up two men in Cambridge but before they reached their drop off, the men allegedly got out of the taxi and ran along a pathway – one of them tripping up and dropping an iPhone in the process – which was caught on camera.

The mother of one of the men has now attempted to made amends with a touching card saying she was "so sorry" about the actions of her son, as well as money for the fare, the Cambridge News reports.

In her letter, the mother, who doesn't reveal her name, says: "Dear Steve, I am sorry for my son not paying for the cab ride from Arbury to Lolworth. I am very disappointed in him. This is a little something to say sorry."

mind you lolworth is not exactly big could have probably knocked a couple of doors and found out who he is

I think it was a nice touch.

I suspect the driver knew the ID of the scroats, but nice none the less.

A nice touch from the mother maybe, that doesn't mean her son is sorry or that he wont do it again.
