Murat Kaymaz and his smashed up taxi
A taxi driver has urged the thieves who smashed up his cab and stole his personal possessions to return his mobile phone - so he won't lose the treasured family pictures he had saved on it.
Self-employed driver Murat Kaymaz parked his cab in Alton Road in Mutley late on Tuesday night when he stopped off to get some food.
When the 39-year-old returned to the vehicle shortly after midnight, he found a rock had been thrown through the passenger window and his wallet and mobile phone had been taken from the glove compartment.

The father of one said the wallet contained about £100.
"They can keep the money," he added.
"I really don't care about that. I just want my phone back.
"It had a lot of personal pictures and videos on it."

Mr Kaymaz has left voicemail messages on the Samsung Galaxy S6, which has been switched off.
He said: "I asked them if I could get my phone back, if they could leave it somewhere. At first I thought they might give it back but now I'm not so sure."
The driver will be unable to work until the damage has been fixed - leaving him hundreds of pounds out of pocket. He will also have to fork out an insurance excess charge of about £60.
He added: "They threw a rock through the window and it damaged the compartment on the other side too.
"My phone and my wallet were in the glove box. They weren't even on show or anything."
Mr Kaymaz has been unable to work because of the damage caused
The taxi was damaged at about midnight on Wednesday, May 10 near the tanning shop on Alton Road.
The incident has been reported to Devon and Cornwall Police.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference CR35540/17.
