Uber driver accused of raping a passenger ‘freaked out’ when she told him she ‘had HIV’, court hears

AN Uber driver raped a passenger then rinsed his genitals with a bottle of water in panic when she told him she had HIV, a jury heard. The drunk woman had fallen asleep in Suleiman Abdirizak’s car when he pulled over and attacked her, it was claimed.

She told Snaresbrook crown court in East London he “freaked out” at her lie. She had been out for dinner and felt unwell. She ordered an Uber but the driver took her the wrong route home. He allegedly pulled into a dead end and attacked her.

The woman said: “I said ‘What are you doing?’ “He got off his seat and then came to the back and by the time he came to the back he had already got his penis out. “I said stay away from me.

“I don’t know how I thought of this idea to lie to him, I said I have an illness and you don’t want to sleep with me.. “He got out a squash bottle from his car and started washing his mouth and penis because he though he was contaminated.”

Abdirizak, 42, of Poplar, denies rape. The trial continues.
