Well here we go the annual your not getting a fare rise meetings are to be held in different locations across the borders today,
chaired by Timothy Stevens, some of you might know from the Doncaster Leeds area, from the past.
The council use a formula that you need a higher degree in algebra to work out, they are claiming that the cost of operating a taxi has actually fallen by so many percent.

well I'm sure someone as diligent and prepared as yourself skippy will have figures to show just how much insurance has gone up as well as council fees, garage charges (hourly rate) tyres of course with the price of rubber at record levels not to mention that although diesel prices have been very reasonable of late they are starting to creep upwards

You are having a laugh aren't you? Skippy is always banging on about how cheap his insurance is. Not forgetting that he discounts the Council agreed fares anyway.

Devise a fare plan up using the Brighton formula.

Vehicle Insurance up by around 8% on last year.
Fuel up by around 10p on last year
Garage costs up by around 5% on last year.
Wage going up yearly
Cost of living going up by 3.5% on last year.

So any freeze on tariffs would be a reduction in their value.

Must be a hell of a Calculation the SBC use that shows costs have not increased..I wonder if the SBC staff got a pay rise this year?.

Can you make it easier for him by posting the Brighton formula?

The NTA have done a pdf on it http://www.national-taxi-association.co ... ormula.pdf

But using google site search, I found this post from 14 years ago of someone doing an outline of how it works.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=37

And it's had over 10,000 views, so hopefully it's worked for someone.
