A politician in New York has suggested the solution to the Yellow Cabs woe, in respect of their battle with the apps companies, is to offer a two for one deal where every existing Yellow Cab owner gets a free medallion (plate to us).

Is really doubling the amount of Yellow Cabs going to help existing drivers? Who are currently struggling to earn a living now? Would be better off giving those extra medallions to Uber or Lyft drivers.
