CCTV: Police searching for man after taxi driver attacked in SouthamptonPOLICE have released photos of a man they want to speak to after a taxi driver was attacked in Southampton.
Officers say the taxi driver picked up a man from outside Bar Rhumba in Bedford Place and took him to Laundry Road at his request, where he then got out to withdraw cash.
However, after a few minutes the driver got out to see where the passenger had gone, before the passenger re-appeared and assaulted the driver, walking off without paying.
The driver suffered injuries to his face as a result of the assault.
The incident took place at around 11.30pm on January 26, but police have now released images of a man they want to speak to, more than two weeks after the attack.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnesses the incident, or who recognises the man, to call 101, quoting 44180034800. Alternatively, call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
