Book through the Boro Taxis app? You'll now be able to use it to hail a cab all over the country
Do you use the smart phone app to book a Boro Taxi? Well now, you’ll be able to use that app to hail a cab all over the country.
Boro Taxis has forged what it calls “an exciting and innovative” partnership that will enable its taxi booking system to be used nationwide. Working in partnership with other taxi businesses and Autocab, it has helped create the UK’s largest network of national taxi companies.
Customers who need a taxi when visiting many other UK towns and cities, and eventually globally, can use the Boro Taxis app. The Middlesbrough-based firm will accept the booking and the relevant local taxi company will then carry out the journey.
Christine Bell, director of Boro Taxis, said: “Anybody with a smartphone is able to use the Boro Taxis booking app, which is already incredibly popular with tens of thousands of our customers as they are able to quickly book their taxi, receive notification updates about their journey, including vehicle and driver details, together with the ability to track their vehicle.
“This fantastic new service means that customers will no longer need to find a local taxi company when out of town as they can now use the one app. “It is also very important to us that our customers can also have peace of mind that the local taxi company providing the service is properly licensed.”
Kenny Dodds, sales manager of Autocab, supplier of the world’s bestselling taxi booking and dispatch systems, said “We are very excited to be working with Boro Taxis, one of the country’s largest and most respected taxi companies in relation to this project and look forward to working with them as we expand this project further in the near future.”
Boro Taxis was founded by Mohammed Bashir in 1982 with three cars. Today the company is the biggest private hire firm in the North-east, has a fleet of more than 1,200 vehicles and handles more than 130,000 calls per week.
