Interesting piece from a specialist insurance publication on the Alpha collapse. There was a copyright notice when I tried to copy it, so please visit the site to read it. Interesting comment below the article about Alpha being an 'unrated' insurer though - unrated seems to mean that its financial strength and status is unknown. Informing drivers by text doesn't seem the most reliable method, and if they're being sent letters then they could take a few days to arrive. |

I would think the vast majority of motorists probably don't even know the name of their underwriter let alone their rating |
