Bogus taxi driver raped young woman after picking her up from Fuel

A man who watched taxi porn before posing as a cab driver to play out a "sexual fantasy" has been convicted of raping a vulnerable young woman. Alnadar Ahmed, 41, lured his victim into his black Chevrolet and raped her in the passenger seat after picking her up outside Fuel on New Year's Day. Just 11 days before the attack, Ahmed downloaded legal pornography from the websites Cabfake.com and BogusTaxi.com, Charlotte Baines, prosecuting, told the jury.

Just hours after raping the woman, who was half his age and drunk, Ahmed sent another young woman a Facebook message offering his services as a taxi. He claimed he was doing the victim a "favour" by giving her a lift and reluctantly had consensual sex with her. But a jury saw through his lies and unanimously convicted him of rape after a five-day trial at Hull Crown Court. After delivering their verdict, the jury was then told Ahmed is currently being investigated about another suspected sex offence.

Judge Mark Bury told the jury: "One mystery you might want want clearing up. You know on one hand the defendant has no previous convictions but his DNA was on the police database. At the time of this allegation, he was under investigation for another sexual offence." Ahmed, who is originally from Sudan and has lived in Hull for 13 years, claimed he had gone out on New Year's Eve to enjoy the "atmosphere".

He was captured on CCTV waiting outside Fuel in Baker Street and turning his head to watch the victim walk past him just after 1.07am. He later told police in interview the velvet mini-skirt she wore was "too short". Ahmed gave conflicting answers in evidence, first stating he viewed pornography for "educational reasons", but later telling the jury: "It's not educating myself but I like it. It's like people have hobbies, watch football. I enjoy watching porn."

Miss Baines had said to him: "You have a particular interest in pornography that happens in the back of a cab." Ahmed responded: "I watch it in different positions - in taxi, in bed, on the stairs, everywhere." After leaving Fuel, the victim walked towards Prospect Street before turning back and walking up Baker Street looking for a taxi.

Ahmed, who had turned his car around and parked it behind a real taxi, was in the vehicle waiting when she approached him near the junction with Percy Street and got in, believing it was a real taxi. Ahmed, who had been attending the trial on bail, was remanded in custody by Judge Bury and warned to expect a prison sentence of "some length" when he is sentenced on June 8.

The judge told him: "You have been convicted on what I regard as clear evidence of rape. You must know that the sentence will be one of immediate imprisonment of some length." Judge Bury said he need more information from the victim as to how the attack had affected her before passing sentence.

Not convinced his time in jail will be good for him.

Oh dear never mind.
