Just receive a letter from the licence dept.

A trial is being held, that every 3rd vehicle licence can in this pilot scheme choose [voluntary] to use a MOTC station of their choice to have their vehicle tested instead of having a annual council test by the bin mechanics

This tells me that they are now starting to trust the MOT stations

The letter goes on about there is no additional charge for this during the pilot scheme, but this position will have to change if it becomes permanent?????????

Why every third test, and why should 66% of drivers have no choice. :?

Still if nothing else, the bin testers will be worried about their job prospects. So that 66% might just get a better and quicker test, and not have to deal with idiots.

End the restriction I say. :D

I always love it when they say there's some play in my roll bars. Every time I say "Could that be because you're using a 3 foot bar to check them?"

Idiots!

Or if it's like ours they sent my vehicle up on the ramp with the bonnet up. It hit the roof and put a ruddy great dint in it.

Bring on the MOT testers! \:D/

Or even the Private Hire Association - we all have to work together with the council. Collective responsibility
