Black cabbie 'stabs minicab driver with a screwdriver in furious road rage row' in central London

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/b ... 51416.html

A London taxi driver is believed to have stabbed a minicab driver with a screwdriver following a fierce rush hour dispute outside a busy train station, police said.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after the incident near to Euston station at around 5.40pm on May 18.

Scotland Yard have appealed for witnesses, saying that the minicab driver was "seriously assaulted" in the confrontation which was possibly motivated by anger at inconsiderate driving.

The 34-year-old was rushed to hospital suffering from a small stab wound to his right shoulder.

Detectives have appealed for revellers drinking outside the busy Royal George Pub on Eversholt Street.

A Met Police spokesman said that the man's injuries were thought to have been caused by a screwdriver.

The suspect has been released under investigation.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

PC Mungo Elliott, of the Met's Taxi & Private Hire Policing Team, said: "The Eversholt Street area was crowded at the time, including a large number of people who were gathered outside the Royal George pub.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the altercation or the moments leading up to it to call police and tell us what they saw."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Taxi & Private Hire Policing Team via 101 quoting CAD 6247/18May.
