Staff and customers of a taxi firm in Long Eaton were horrified when they discovered a takeaway box with a human poo in it was left in the company waiting room in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The unwanted package was left just inside the door to LE taxis, based in Tamworth Road, at around 2.30am.
The incident made both the staff and customers wonder why someone would leave such a nasty surprise.
Staff had noticed a man loitering outside the firm on the CCTV cameras, before seeing him drop the box in the door to the empty waiting room, and run off.
Colin Chadwick, office manager at LE Taxis said: “It’s very out of the blue. I spotted a guy walking around right outside the office and he just opened the door and dropped it in then scarpered.
"He didn’t seem to be any more drunk than people usually are when they’re going home at that time of night, but I have absolutely no idea why someone would do that, to be honest.”
“I didn’t have any customers at the time of it happening, but I had three customers come in after that alerted me to it.
“I was busy working when I noticed him put the box there but I wasn’t going to pick up what I thought was an empty kebab box.
“When the customer told me what was in it, she was quite shocked, really."
While the poo has been removed from the waiting room, the taxi firm are waiting for it to be collected by the council.
One of the customers who was in the waiting room posted on the Spotted: Long Eaton Facebook page and said: “Seriously what is wrong with people nowadays?”
She added: "Thank you to the lovely driver who gave us mints after nearly being sick."
