As regards crimes against drivers this isn't really worth posting, but what is interesting is that not only are police doing something about a £25 runner, they've even issued a media appeal and CCTV image of the suspect

Maybe more to it than meets the eye :-$

On Friday, July 13 a man was picked up in Lemsford, and after being dropped off in the High Street in Welwyn at around 11.40pm he left the taxi without paying a fare of £25.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured, as it is believed he was in the area at the time and could have vital information that will help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man, or has any other information, is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/17360/18.

Maybe the cab trade has done a few favours for the police, or the police have had complaints from the trade for ignoring such criminal acts against them.

Either way it's a positive move to put the message out that runners don't necessarily get away with it every time.
