This was the moment a cabbie was caught pushing through blockades to go down a closed road in Falmouth.
The lazy driver was snapped by a witness as he entered High Street on Sunday evening (September 23) even though it was blocked by barriers for works to be carried out.
According to Cornwall Council contractor Cormac's website, High Street is closed from September 17 to 28 for works being undertaken by South West Water.
But this did not deter the taxi driver in the red 2008 Toyota Prius who clearly did not feel he should have to use a diversionary route.
The witness, who did not want to be named, even said that he and his passenger removed several signs in three different locations which said that the road was closed.
She said: "The road is closed for emergency sewerage work so I'd rather they repaired it than the alternative.
"We live close to the top of Falmouth High Street and get fed up with taxi drivers who speed down our road and have a blatant disregard for pedestrians.
"This taxi driver and his passenger removed several 'road closed' signs at three different places on the road and they pushed their way through a small gap where work was taking place, regardless of people walking up the closed road.
"He could have driven round on the main road for the sake of a few minutes as it was Sunday at 7pm.
"It was a nice evening there were quite a few pedestrians walking in town."
She said she did not know which company, if any, the driver worked for.
