Scot,do not kid yourself,as soon as things get tough, the weaker driver, will panic and go to the offices that have the work, and no matter what people may say,he can pull in the work.
First of the 203020 driver,s now has a TX11,first of many.
March, hearing for the plates fo 203020,goes his way new Mercs on,goes
against,TX11.
Then it will be the straw hats and trumpets.
Survival of the fitness, then who will have the bottle.
Tele/Handys,505050,and Tay Taxis, can they all survive. One has got to falter.
More vehicles going on,without the hired plates going off, offices and more
so drivers feeling the pinch, which way will it end Scott?.
Playing right into Mr Young,s hands(not to mention P.Marr.).
What says you Scott, interesting or what.

Tattie bye,onlooker.

Noway hosey.
These people got the option of receiving a hackney plate,if they put on
a wav.
All this crap trap about self employed ect.
They have their plate, now do a service to the disable.
What is the matter with them, scared of hard work, take the cream and
to hell with the rest.
Any way how many wheelchair customers are there in Dundee, cannot be that many,as some guys have had wavs on for some time.

I have operated WAV's for 15 years in a major south coast town with well above the average number of elderly people, plenty of nursing/ rest homes, private hospitals etc. an area you would expect a very high demand for WAV's. But we have only a handful of w/c cash customers that use a WAV regularly every week. There is some demand but from Social Services etc, cash work is almost nonexistant. Most w/c users get a Mobility vehicle and get family or friends to drive them about if they cannot drive themselves. The whole WAV issue is a con, LA's need to show they cater for disabled and this is a cheap option for them.

Good shout, about time realism is coming into the Wav scenario.
Find the same myself, although all area are different.
Nursing homes, old folks homes and the rest in the same boats, should have their own accessible vehicles.

All going overboard these days.

happy chappys right there is a steady stream of 203020 drivers crossing over and these guys cant believe the difference in money between handys and 203020,you can maybe fool the public into thinking your busy but not other taxu drivers, one of your longest serving drivers apeared at handy about three weeks ago on one of the new wavs im not sure if its his own but he will be one of many 203020 drivers who will end up in other offices ...

If you want to meet up with Mr David Young,no problem.
And I have a life and I know plenty of drivers with 203020,who are earning, over £350-00 per week after paying the £125 or £250 for the
vehicles.
There is always, drivers moving about, probably the ones you know off are the newer driver,or scared to work,or put in a shift.
You get your facts right,I have.
Try and be what you say,a,happy chappy.
By the way are you one of the hired plate brigade?

your right there are a few cabbies who are now benefiting from running their new wav plus the hired plate they dont want to give up but there is growing ill feeling towards these cabbies mostly from original hacks who have woke up to where this leaves them, from what ive heard they are not going to sit by and let them away with it,

Scott, been hearing about people knowing the hired plates operators, and
what they are going to do,do it.
For once and for all, lets shop these crettins, and let us all get on an even footing, and start to make a decent living.
Am all for the guys putting on the WAVS,whether they do the wheelchairs
or not, that it us to themselves, but for christ sake lets get rid of these
assholes that are abusing the system, with still hiring these plates.
Just utter greed,if they want more vehicles, put their money where their
mouth is and apply for another legit plate.

Be happy,the onlooker.

ps lets name and shame.

No doubt happy chappy,will disagree.

Is that £250/£350 take home after all expenses?

Scot,Jan Goodall has tried for years for dial a ride, lottery money to finance
with no success.
Other areas like Fife has this system, people reckon that it does not harm the taxi trade,as the people they are targetting,do not use taxis or public
transport at the moment.

Could beg to differ with the last statement, probably a small bearing.
Set up to help various people as the dial a ride has an escort to help people on and off the vehicle.
I think at the end of the day,it is free transport they are looking for, although nothing is for free these days,so probably a charity based thing.
Probably will eventually take off,but taxi trade may kick up a fuss.
But hey,what,s new.
Be Happy,Ellgo

Well done Dundee City Council, come on lads, put on a Wav,do the taxi
cards, join the scheme, receive £1500,per year for dead mileage.
Hope you lads are not banking(no pun)on this grant.
WHY?.

Sorry lads thanks for your support in putting these vehicles on but,
WE the council have just shafted you again,na na nanana, your not
getting the grant now.

Changed the goalposts, giving private hire more business with the card
scheme.

What can you say,not a lot.

Happy motoring.SHAFT.

Heard a further 35,but no one can confirm yet.
Should have bloody opened the town Jan 1st,with all Wavs by the year
Jan 1st 2006.
This would have been a better and fairer way for all.
Council digging a bigger hole for themselves.
