Lincoln taxi driver loses appeal after having licence revoked for getting 12 points https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news ... al-2149508 A court heard it wasn't the first time ![]() A taxi rank in Lincoln (Image: Lincolnshire Live/Google Maps) A Lincoln taxi driver has been stripped of his licence after he was caught speeding three times in just five months. Graham Taylor, of Eagle Lane in Thorpe On The Hill, failed to declare that he'd picked up 12 points after he was caught speeding three times in 2016 and disobeyed train signals. He was then stripped of his private hire taxi licence by the City of Lincoln Council in March, but launched an appeal, which was heard at Lincoln Magistrates' Court. It was also revealed in court that Taylor had appeared in front of the same committee for similar offences, which included having penalty points on his licence in 2009. The same offence had also been committed in 2011 as well as non-disclosure. The appeal was dismissed by the court and Mr Taylor will now not be able to apply for a new licence for two years. Francesca Bell, Public Protection, ASB and Licensing Service manager for City of Lincoln Council says she is happy with the decision that has been made. She said: “We are pleased that the court upholds the sub-committee’s decision to revoke the private hire license from a driver who has had three incidences of being over the speed limit in five months. “The licence holder has a responsibility to his passengers and needs to be fit and proper for work. Through him acquiring 12 penalty points, after being on a speed awareness course and appearing before the Sub-Committee twice, he has not demonstrated that he is fit and proper. “It has been recommended that Mr. Taylor should not apply for a new licence from the council until at least two years have lapsed, in accordance with the council’s policy on relevant convictions.” |

![]() A taxi rank in Lincoln (Image: Lincolnshire Live/Google Maps) I'm assuming that's actually a couple of PHVs parked in the street somewhere, but whatever it is it's certainly not the best image to illustrate the article

Quote: Graham Taylor, of Eagle Lane in Thorpe On The Hill, failed to declare that he'd picked up 12 points after he was caught speeding three times in 2016 and disobeyed train signals. many level crossings have CCTV not a good idea I wonder if it's the same one that blocked the entrance to our high street for a couple of hours a few years ago |

Oh, you mean the one that had the Lamborghini PH for a while? Good job the Lambo is not in the photograph that was used in the piece, because it would have confused the hell out of whoever wrote the "Taxi rank in Lincoln" caption

Looks like this speed king lost his licence for non disclosure rather than points accumulated. |
