A Hull taxi owner has been left angry and upset after two of his drivers had their cars targeted in a late night vandalism spree.

The culprits attacked the Foxy/Tanks Office in Spring Bank West in the early hours of Wednesday and smashed the windows of a Hyundai i40 estate and a Ford Mondeo estate. Once they had smashed the windows they then proceeded to steal both driver's earnings for the night.

A total of £150 was taken from one car, while £85 was taken from the other along with the driver's wallet and mobile phones.

Taxi firm owner Shaun Gowen said: "It makes me feel angry and upset for my drivers that are working hard to earn a living for their families and then some scumbag just comes along and takes it.

"Not only have they lost a night's takings, they have to get their vehicles repaired which is also a shame."

The damage and thefts have been reported to Humberside Police, who are investigating.

Earlier this week delivery drivers were the target of 11 nasty attacks in Hull in just one month. The attacks, which happened throughout October, took place in Cottingham , Cottingham Road, Thorpe Park Road and Thomas Clarkson Way.

Some offences have involved delivery drivers working for retail stores, usually in marked up vans, having property stolen from their unattended and often insecure vehicles.

Some of the crimes happened when drivers left their vans with the keys in the ignition and the engine running while they were making deliveries.

Anyone with information on the damage and theft can call Humberside Police on 101 referring to log number 11 of October 31.

Alternatively, you can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
