Dundee cab driver investigated after being linked to listing on male dating website offering sex in taxi

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/lo ... x-in-taxi/

A Dundee taxi driver’s licence is at risk after he allegedly used a dating site to offer sex in his car.

A listing on the FabGuys.com site included pictures of the driver with his taxi badge. It also said he can “always be found” at the rank by Dundee Railway Station and that his taxi could be used for sex.

The driver in question claims not to know about the website but refused to answer when asked if he denies making the post.

A Dundee City Council spokesman confirmed a complaint about a driver has been made. The spokesman added the complaint has been passed to Police Scotland.

The profile has been taken down but The Courier has seen images taken of the page. It included a mobile phone number and nude photos of the man, many of which have the driver posing with his council-issued taxi licence.

It then lists a number of sexual activities he enjoys.

Using the username taximan2, the page said he would “prefer quick meets either outdoor or in my taxi”.

It also states encounters can take place in his home and that he is 52 years old.

The concerned reader who sent the images to The Courier said “taxi drivers are put into a position of total trust, this driver in particular has broken trust when he is advertising such sexual activity”.

The council spokesman said: “We have received a complaint and this has been passed to Police Scotland.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Where allegations of criminal behaviour are passed to us they will be investigated and dealt with appropriately. If no criminality has taken place, matters relating to fitness to hold a licence rest with the issuing authority.”

When approached for comment via the number given in the profile, the driver said he “has no idea” about the website, adding that the conversation was “disgusting”.

He then hung up when asked if he denies having anything to do with the Fabguys post.

Agree, but don't think that "he just happens to drive a cab" is the problem here:

Imagine if that had been posted on a swingers' site, for example

Men, women, gay, hetro, bi, don't think that's the problem here [-X

Looks like this guy has been suspended, and will face a hearing on whether he keeps his badge:

Dundee taxi driver faces losing licence for ‘advertising sex’ in his cab

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/lo ... n-his-cab/

A Dundee taxi driver who advertised his cab online as a place for sex will learn his fate later this week after being suspended.

The driver used dating site FabGuys.com to post nude pictures of himself with his taxi badge, saying he could “always be found” by the rank near Dundee Railway Station.

The post has since been taken down, but a concerned reader sent images from the website to The Courier last month.

A complaint was received by the council, which also reported it to the police and it has been confirmed he was suspended as a result of the post.

Council papers state there was letter from a licensing standards officer about the “alleged conduct” of the driver during the “currency of his taxi driver licence”.

A private hearing will now take place on Thursday to determine whether he will have his licence permanently stripped from him.

Using the username taximan2, the FabGuys page said he would “prefer quick meets either outdoor or in my taxi”.

It also states encounters can take place in his home and that he is 52 years old.

It is understood the police investigated the matter but could not prove any criminal activity had taken place so no further action was taken.

Given the nature of the supposed meetings and that the post also suggested they could take place in his home, it would be difficult to prove any sexual activity had taken place in public, a police source said.

The reader who sent the images to The Courier said “taxi drivers are put into a position of total trust, this driver in particular has broken trust when he is advertising such sexual activity”.

When approached for comment via the number on the FabGuys post last month, the man who answered the phone denied knowing about the website and described the conversation as “disgusting”.

He then hung up when asked if that means he denies having anything to do with the post.

The same mobile number was engaged or unavailable throughout the day when approached again for comment on the suspension and Thursday’s hearing.

Well it seems he's disappeared, but we don't get to know whether or not his badge has been revoked - it's a secret :-$

Taxi driver who sought out sex in his cab believed to have fled Dundee

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/lo ... ed-dundee/

A Dundee taxi driver who publicly sought out partners for sex in his cab has reportedly fled the city.

The council’s licensing committee held a private meeting on Thursday to discuss whether the man’s licence should be permanently removed and it is believed he did not attend.

The council immediately suspended the 52-year-old male driver in November after it was revealed in The Courier he had used dating site FabGuys.com to advertise for sex in his vehicle.

The advert, which has since been taken down, said he “could always be found” by one of the city’s busiest taxi ranks at Dundee Railway Station and included naked pictures of himself posing with his registered taxi badge.

The driver, referred to in licensing committee papers as JE, operated an account on the website under the username taximan2 and said he prefers “quick meets either outdoor or in my taxi”.

It was accompanied by a list of the sexual activities he enjoys and offered up his taxi or his home as locations for the encounters.

When approached for comment previously via the number given in the profile, the driver said he had “no idea” about the website, adding that the conversation was “disgusting”.

He then hung up when asked if he denied having anything to do with the FabGuys post.

The Courier has since unsuccessfully attempted to contact the driver on numerous occasions through the same mobile number.

Councillor Stewart Hunter, convener of the licensing board, said he could not legally disclose whether or not the driver in question has been permanently stripped of his licence.

The council had passed on information to police when it temporarily suspended his licence but it is understood the force dropped the case after officers could not prove he had committed a criminal offence.

A source said that given the nature of the supposed meetings and that they may also have taken place at his home, it would be difficult to prove any wrongdoing.

it's his own fault he could have quite happily used the dating site and had some "fun" but offering his licensed vehicle as a sex venue #-o

Would be interesting to know the legal grounds, but suspect it's kind of case where it's in the interests of councillors not to have their decision made public, because they're damned either way.
