Phone call today from my insurance broker, and amongst the many questions asked, you know, shoe size, inside leg, any points on your licence, I was asked if I was an UBER driver. Strange question, isn’t it?

Funny you should mention that because a lad who works with us was asked the same question by his insruance company today, they said, "it's to combat drivers cross border hiring." I think the insurance companies have been leaned on by either the councils or the Police?

There maybe an element of truth in that, as I suspect if a driver answered that they were on Uber a follow up question may well have been asked requesting info on where they predominately work.

Possibly, but it might just be a case of stopping cars getting licensed in low claims areas, yet working in high claims areas.
