Video on website. Not the clearest, and lots of bleeped out words, but obvious enough what's going on Appalling video shows woman scream and swear at Huddersfield taxi driver before assaulting him https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/wes ... m-15606059 The woman bangs on the driver's vehicle and tells him 'I hope you die tonight' after a row erupted over the window being open ![]() Image: Huddersfield Examiner This is the aggressive and appalling tirade of abuse a woman hurled at a Huddersfield taxi driver after she told him to close his window and didn't get her way. The woman, who allegedly told the driver she worked for Kirklees Council , can be seen screaming various expletives, accusing him of racism and sexism, and even telling him to 'die' as she and two other women are thrown out of the cab on Lockwood Scar on Boxing Day evening. The driver claimed the argument started when one of the women told him to close the van window and he refused. It's alleged she then refused to pay, to which he stopped the vehicle and said he wouldn't be taking the group any further without payment. Shocking footage captured on the driver's phone shows the livid customer banging on the taxi windows as her companions try to pull her back, and even at one point opening the driver's side door and appearing to try and assault the driver. She can be seen yelling, "f*** you w*****", "you're a racist f****** sexist b******" and threatening to "put your ******* van through you c***". She also yells, "I swear to God I hope you die tonight you b******". At one point, a man who was not travelling in the taxi appears to get involved, telling the women to "get out of the way" and saying to the driver, "just drive off mate". The driver, Mian Sabir, works for a Huddersfield firm. He said: "I picked them up from the Plumbers Arms. One of the women asked me to shut the hole where the air was coming from. They were laughing so I didn't think anything of it. "The lady doing all the shouting and screaming went home and then her mum started saying she wasn't going to pay me if I didn't close the window. I said if she wasn't going to pay me she should leave the vehicle." He said the woman said she would go - but the first woman, thought to be her daughter, came back. He said: "They started screaming and hitting the vehicle. When she started I started recording it." A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to a report of an assault on a taxi driver on Lockwood Scar between 10pm and 10.50pm on 26 December. "The suspects, who were customers in the vehicle, are reported to have become abusive towards the driver. They then got out of the car and attempted to cause damage to his vehicle. "Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident." |

No other service industry would tolerate such abuse from the cesspit element that reflects a Jeremy Kyle style sub culture. Why the hell should we tolerate such people when no other trade would. |

The woman, who allegedly told the driver she worked for Kirklees Council if this is true then she needs to be sacked for that but I bet she doesn't that said was the request to close the window not unreasonable ? the driver could have done more to prevent the problem in the first place |

Quote: Why the hell should we tolerate such people when no other trade would. We shouldn't, however the driver to his credit didn't tolerate it and told them to get out. Well done to him.

I have to agree with edders, that perhaps this driver could have done more to diffuse the situation. Experienced drivers have a sixth sense for trouble brewing and can, in most cases act upon that sense. If this idiot driver had simply closed his window then his drunken( and predictable) passenger would probably have shut up. |

Not really sussex, anything's possible with drunks but he had an opportunity to avert this by closing his window. But you could be right, some folk just want to cause bother no matter what. |

In my experience if you handle drunks the right way these things don't usually happen but some drivers just wind customers up the wrong way. That said she was out of order with her response |

No sympathy for her, her behaviour will probably cost her her job. |

Coopers wrote: No sympathy for her, her behaviour will probably cost her her job. No word of the job here, and looks as if she got off scot free by writing a short letter of apology Woman who launched foul-mouthed attack on taxi driver forced to write him letter of apology https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/wes ... d-16269196 Abusive customer said her actions were 'out of order and disgusting' as part of community resolution A woman who screamed abuse at a taxi driver has written him a note to say sorry. Footage shows the woman accusing driver Mian Sabir of racism and sexism, even telling him to 'die' as she and two other women were told to get out of the cab in a Boxing Day bust-up. She can be seen yelling, "f*** you w*****", "you're a racist f****** sexist b******" and threatening to "put your ******* van through you c***". She also yells, "I swear to God I hope you die tonight you b******". The driver claimed the argument started when one of the women told him to close the van window and he refused. It's alleged she then refused to pay, to which he stopped the vehicle and said he wouldn't be taking the group any further without payment. Shocking footage showed the livid customer banging on the taxi windows as her companions try to pull her back. The driver says the woman grabbed his beard as she tried to take hold of his phone. The woman and friends were picked up at the Plumbers Arms in Huddersfield and the incident happened at Lockwood Scar. She has now apologised as part of an 'Adult Community Resolution', a punishment aimed at first-time offenders which doesn't result in a criminal record. Community resolutions offer offenders a 'second chance' where the offence is not serious and might be considered to be an isolated incident. ![]() Image: Huddersfield Examiner Her letter says: "Dear Mr Main (sic). "In relation to my actions on 26 December 18, I would like to apologise for causing you upset, alarm + distress. "My actions were out of order and disgusting - that is not the person I am or want to be. I am embarrassed. "I am sorry for saying you were racist + sexist. Kind regards." She signed the letter with just her first name. Mr Sabir had to pick it up from the police station and sign a form to say he accepted the matter was now resolved. Mr Sabir, 39, who works for a Huddersfield firm, welcomed the apology and said he hoped the woman had learned her lesson. He doesn't normally take footage of people abusing him but decided to when one of the women present had mentioned that she worked for Kirklees Council and he would face losing his licence. "I don't usually do anything about it (abuse from customers). I normally let it go. It is unusual for older ladies (to shout abuse), it's usually younger ones." He said some customers had made racist comments in the past but he hadn't reported it. Asked if thought the woman had learned her lesson, Mr Sabir said: "Well I hope so. From the apology it looks like she doesn't want to be the kind of person who is rude and aggessive." |

Personally I'm not a fan of community resolutions. But maybe the driver just wants to move on. |
