Wonder what's going on here? Presumably a bit more than a plying for hire sting 8-[

Surprised plate number isn't blanked out, though. And there's a video on the website which clearly shows the car's number plate

Three men have been arrested following an armed police sting operation on the A47 in Peterborough this afternoon (Wednesday 9 January).

As part of a planned police operation, officers stopped a Huntingdonshire District Council private hire vehicle, a grey/silver Vauxhall Insignia, on the A47 at Fulbridge Road, Peterborough this afternoon.

The operation took place shortly after 2pm and traffic on the westbound carriageway was halted for a time.

Three people have been arrested in connection with an incident in Peterborough, further details of which are now available at this time.

Investigations are ongoing and the three men remain in custody.

Forensic officers also attended the scene to examine the vehicle.

I suspect there is a good possibility of this being a drugs raid.

Although the offices dressed in white might well mean it is something a bit more serious. :-k

Think it is more likely connected to CSE/ or a serious sex offence if they are wearing forensic suits but it could be drugs and they are swabbing down the vehicle for traces

The fact that armed police were involved suggests they thought the driver might be armed

odd there's no door signs as nearly all Peterborough PH are normally plastered in vinyls and signage

As per the thread title and in the article itself, it's a Huntingdonshire District Council-licensed PHV
