I know who this Driver was... It is believed to be suicide....the 2nd Cabby in Manchester in 2018. At least 8 other drivers aged under 65 have died in the last 12 months...mostly due to the stress of the job and not being able to make ends meet. Sad indeed. RIP |

except in London where they still make a good living very sad but if you can't make it pay maybe better to give up and go on the dole instead of this I can't think of many trades in and around the uk where it's considered appropriate for the workers to earn a pittance in the name of competition and giving consumers a great deal |

Self employed cannot “give up” and go on the dole. Some consumers still try to haggle over fares, and some in the trade drop fares at the first time of asking. |

Filled in one of those online calculators and it said I am entitled to £94 a week ! Full stamp paid, single no disability. £94 wouldn't even cover my weekly essential outgoings. How are some of these people getting £100's every week ? |

What annoys me is going out and doing a full weeks work just to give 75% of my earnings to other people. Council, fuel companies, insurance, base etc. Would be a good job if the expenses were'nt so high. in 2015 my 1.6 Superb cost 8.75p/mile to run in fuel in 2019 my 1.6 Superb costs 10.75p/mile Insurance has risen about £250/year at least council fees gone up 10% at least fares no rise or even a drop
