A teen who attacked an innocent cabbie before snatching his taxi and dumping it covered in bleach has been jailed.
Keaton Blake assaulted the taxi driver before making off in his Toyota Avensis in Shaftmoor Lane, Hall Green on December 8 last year.
The 18-year-old had targeted the victim in the early hours of the morning.
But soon after, an eagle-eyed police officer spotted the car driving onto a petrol forecourt.
The officer approached, but Blake fled the scene - ramming another vehicle as he tried to escape.
Blake, of Solihull Road, Sparkhill then desperately tried to mask his tracks and destroy evidence by smothering the car in cleaning products and ditching it.
It was later found abandoned and covered in bleach.
He was arrested and pleaded guilty to robbery and dangerous driving.
Blake was sentenced to three years and four months at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday (Feb 14).
