Another Sandwell-plated driver in trouble after that one driving the wrong way up the one-way road in Worcester.

At least the driver the other day can claim a genuine mistake, but obviously a different kettle of fish here.

Sandwell Council has slammed the driving as 'completely unacceptable'

An investigation has been launched after astonishing footage captured the moment an impatient taxi driver drove along a FOOTPATH to avoid traffic.

Sandwell Council chiefs said they are ‘very concerned’ after the shocking clip – which can be viewed via the weblink – shows the brazen cabbie veering onto the path to evade the jam in the Whitley Street, Wednesbury .

Councillor Elaine Costigan, cabinet member for public health and protection, said: “We are very concerned to see a Sandwell licensed vehicle being driven in this manner.

“This driver’s actions are completely unacceptable.

“The taxi licensing team will fully investigate the matter and take appropriate action.”

Unbelievably, the cheeky cabbie is even captured on camera waiting for a pedestrian to walk past before mounting the kerb at around 8.30am on Tuesday, March 5.

The dangerous driver – who was in a Toyota Prius – can then be seen waiting to re-join the road and turning left on Darlaston Road.

The man who filmed it, who did not wish to be named, said he was shocked by the driver’s unacceptable manoeuvre.

The footage was later posted on social media, with calls for the motorist to be 'banned for life'.

A furious viewer said: “You need to send this footage to the police. It’s shocking!”

While another added: “I can’t believe what I have just seen – this person needs to be banned from our roads.”

And a third wrote: "Imagine if someone was walking down the path, or on a mobility scooter, blind or partially-sighted.

"It beggars belief.

"I really hope they get arrested and charged for dangerous driving."

Another woman wrote: "What was the point anyway? He passed, like, five cars."

Black Country Live has since sent the footage to Sandwell Council.

So if it was 'unbelievable' that the driver waited for the pedestrian to walk past, what would it have been if he hadn't? :-s

Certainly not a particularly safe manoeuvre, but I think some of these people need to get out a bit more [-(
