Not much to see here, but this short tweet from Road Policing Scotland has been reported in the press: https://twitter.com/polscotrpu/status/1 ... 1770310656 Road Policing Scotland wrote: RP Edinburgh carried out a taxi/private hire initiative near Waverley station - 40 vehicles stopped - 7 drivers sent home to change for wearing inappropriate clothing - 5 red prohibition labels issued - 1 crossing offence report - 1 ranking offence report - 9 vehicle defect tickets Obviously the dress thing is the one that stands out, and some predictable comments on Twitter about the 'fashion police' etc. However, as one response states: Keith J Bell wrote: Schedule D of the Licensing Conditions state what's appropriate to wear, failure to do so is an offence under s7(2) of Civic Government (Scotland) but rather than prosecute the drivers, they've allowed them to go home and change. Pretty fair policing if you ask me This is the relevant stuff, as he posted on Twitter: ![]() Image: Keith J Bell/Twitter |

I'm not a great fan of dress codes, but get the bit where we shouldn't be dressed like a sack of sh**. However I do think that list of inappropriate dress a bit harsh. Nothing wrong, IMO, with smart shorts and smart trainers. |
