Warning to women travelling at night after three attacks by predatory 'minicab driver'https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-lo ... r-16803422Police are unsure whether the vehicle being used is a genuine minicabPolice have issued an urgent warning to women travelling alone following a number of late-night attacks.
Detectives are investigating three reported incidents involving a possible minicab driver in the areas of Clapham and Putney; the predator approaches lone females late at night or during the early hours.
When the victim is inside the vehicle the driver stops the car and assaults her.
The horrific attacks, which officers believe may be linked, took place at 1.55am in Battersea Rise on August 3, at 12.10am in Putney High Street on August 11 and at 2.47am on August 18.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have encountered the suspect.
Detective inspector Joanne Flynn, of the South West Command Unit’s CID, said: “We are following a number of lines of enquiry, however, it is important that we make women aware that this predatory man is out there.
“Although none of the victims sustained serious injuries, they were, understandably, traumatised by the incidents.
"The vehicle may or may not be a genuine minicab.
"Please ensure that you only get into cabs that you have personally booked and if possible, don’t travel home alone.”
