Don't normally bother with taxi rank rammies unless the driver is involved. But as I said a couple of weeks ago, the Dundee taxi rank murder trial must be in the offing, so perhaps makes these slightly more interesting.

This is also interesting because it's female perp and victim, and also sounds quite violent :-|

Natalie Hendry pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to attacking Kathleen Bryson, 49, in the city centre

A female thug battered a woman unconscious in a taxi queue and then kicked her in the head.

Natalie Hendry pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to attacking Kathleen Bryson, 49, in the city’s Sauchiehall Street in May last year.

The court heard the 30-year-old was out with her partner and joined the queue. Miss Bryson was already in it with a friend.

Prosecutor Chris Farrell said: “Witnesses saw both women bump into each other and this descended into a fight.

“The partner and friend tried to intervene but this was unsuccessful.

“During the course of the fight Hendry grabbed Miss Bryson and flung her to the ground.”

Hendry then got on top of Miss Bryson and pulled her hair and drove her face into the pavement.

Mr Farrell added: “At this point Miss Bryson was unconscious and Hendry gave her a kick to the head.”

Miss Bryson was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary suffering from cuts to her nose and the bottom of her chin which required stitches.

Mr Farrell said Miss Bryson had "recovered consciousness by this stage.”

Police arrested Hendry nearby.

Hendry, of Cardonald, will learn her fate next month.

Sheriff Martin Jones QC told her: “I’m concerned about the level of violence that was displayed and all sentencing options remain open.”

Thought this was quite a funny remark (in a black humour sort of way) in the comments about an 'impact statement':

Quote:
Scott Clark
£500 fine. I wonder if Sheriff Martin Jones QC would have been so lenient if it was his wife or mother who had been battered unconscious.

Would he have been allowed to sit in judgement if that were the case?

Perhaps he heard impact statements before making a judgement?

Gary Wilson
Is that an impact statement taken from the pavement after Ms Bryson's face scudded off it?
