Not much news around this morning, but noticed this unusual charge (highlighted in bold) in a 'round up' of cases at Wycombe Magistrates' Court:

Being the driver of a public Hackney carriage without having the number of persons to be carried exhibited on the vehicle. Fined £103.

I'm assuming it was a genuine HC, but the first two charges relate to plying for hire out-of-area.

Are there any areas that don't put number of people licensed for on the plate ?

Act clearly states that it is an offence not to display the number of passengers to be carried, on the plate or other place on the vehicle as directed by the licensing authority.
