Taxi driver has licence revoked after sex assault allegations https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/ ... legations/ ![]() Image: Bournemouth Echo A TAXI driver has had his licence revoked following allegations of sexual assault against him. The unnamed man was stripped of his public carriage driver licence by councillors at a meeting of a BCP Council licensing sub-committee on July 9. Details of the decision, which was made in a non-public part of the meeting, have only just been published. Minutes say that councillors agreed that the man, who was licensed to operate within the conurbation, was “not of fit and proper character” to hold a public carriage licence. “Members agreed that this was due to the allegations made against them, as well as the discrepancy in his version of events, on separate occasions,” the report says. Reviews of taxi drivers’ licences by BCP Council are considered by councillors but not in public because “they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information”. |

Note that I stated Bournemouth in the thread title, but in fact this was decided by the new Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP), so it could be in either of the three former council areas. But hence the reference to the 'conurbation' in the article. |

Allegations as yet to be proven in court big trouble for the council if he is acquitted

If they can show that they acted in good faith, based on the evidence that would put before them, including the conflicting evidence, then they will be fine. This incident(s) might not even make court. |

This incident(s) might not even make court. And if it did not make it to court for some reason the Council could still be correct on revoking the license under the rule of probability. |
