Uber driver found driving with too many passengers AN UBER driver who was caught with five passengers in her car when she could only take four has been issued a warning. Sannah Ali was spotted on West Regent Street picking up all members of the party before driving off. A complaint was submitted to Glasgow City Council by the taxi driver who witnessed the incident, bringing in enforcement officers. When Miss Ali attended an interview she claimed that she didn’t see the fifth member of the group get into the back of her private hire car and sit in the footwell. She said that they must have snuck them in when she wasn’t looking and when she realised there were too many people in the car she panicked and told them to leave her vehicle. At the licensing committee she said: “There were three women in the back of the car and a man in the front seat. He was quite chatty so I must have got distracted.” |

x-ray wrote: A warning ? FFS A person has got to knowingly commit that offence. On the limited evidence in the article I'm not sure that is made out. If she knowingly allowed five in the car whilst licensed for four, then I agree a warning is not a sufficient penalty. |
