Video on website Taxi driver called 'foreign b******' during abusive rant by passengers https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/li ... b-17437925 One of the girls who screamed at the man tried to cover her face when she realised her behaviour had been caught on camera ![]() Image: Liverpool Echo A taxi driver was called a "foreign b******" after four girls got into his car during a night out. The private hire worker was left "feeling disgusting" after being racially abused and screamed at, while operating in Liverpool city centre on Saturday night. Shortly after 12am, three girls reportedly got into his car but were told they could not travel as they hadn't booked it ahead of time. Speaking to the ECHO , the driver said: "The booking wasn't for them and they wanted me to take them somewhere." The man, who has lived and worked in Liverpool for 13 years, said despite the fact that the fare would be illegal if he took them without a booking, the girls refused to get out of the taxi. When the driver explained that the girls would have to get out, they became aggressive and abusive, before firing racist insults at him. In the video, captured by a passenger camera inside the taxi, the girl in the middle seat said: "Go on then, do nothing with your job then. "Because what are you meant to do then? You're meant to f***ing - *inaudible*." A second girl, sitting in the front passenger seat, then spoke over the top of her friend and said: "You're not going to get another job." When the driver says "get out of my car" again, a girl in the back seat screams "why?" before her mate in the front hurls abuse and can be heard saying "because he's a f***ing foreign b*****d" . As one of the girls goes to exit the taxi she shouts "You've f****d it, you've f****d it you soft c***." Two of them then shout "k***head, k***head" before he points out that their vile behaviour was caught on the camera placed by his rear view mirror. Noticing the recording device, the last girl to leave the taxi makes an attempt to cover her face, despite previously leaning on the driver's seat. The ECHO has chosen to blur the faces of the people involved at the request of the driver, who was left upset and "feeling disgusting" by the attack, but did not want to harm the girls' future. He said: "I don't want her to get any kind of convictions that would affect her future but I want her to think twice before doing it again. "I have never been called a foreign b*****d in my life, been in this country for 13 years now and all because the booking wasn't for them and they wanted me to take them somewhere. "I felt disgusting afterwards, wondering what’s going on wrong with this generation? "I get a lot of people on my car daily and never felt like it. "I just kept my calm and thanked them for the generous words." The driver wanted the video to be shared in the hope that the girls, and others who behave like them, would see what their actions look like. He explained that it is unacceptable to treat hard working people in this way and even graciously hoped they would never experience something similar. He said: "Taxi drivers are out there to earn money to put food on the table for their families, to take people to their destination safe, and that’s what I do. "I work to provide for my family. "I don’t know what they do in life, but I just hope that they will never experience such a behaviour from anyone at their work place or in their day to day life. "She looks like a grown up adult that’s supposed to have some education at her age. "I just hope she will think twice before saying such words to anyone again." |

Quote: The ECHO has chosen to blur the faces of the people involved at the request of the driver, who was left upset and "feeling disgusting" by the attack, but did not want to harm the girls' future. Why? I'm not saying the women should be hung, drawn and quartered, but they should be made accountable for their actions, be that police action or be embarrassed and shamed online. The driver by requesting the faces being burred has done the taxi/PH trade no favors whatsoever. |
