https://www.taxi-point.co.uk/post/dvsa-find-fist-sized-hole-in-body-of-cardiff-taxi-stuffed-with-newspaper-hiding-mot-secret

The DVSA found a defective taxi in Cardiff with a hole the size of a fist during an enforcement operation.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) who work to protect the public from unsafe adrivers and vehicles discovered the problem in the lead up to Christmas.

The DVSA Enforcement team also raised concerns over the MOT testing centre as the newspaper used to fill the hole was dated two days BEFORE the vehicles the last MOT corrosion failure.

Defo, in my opinion, a snide MOT/taxi test.

Guessing some out there wont be having a good New Year.

And they will get what they deserve.

We have a council approved testing station here in Chester that has been suspended twice by the council for safety concerns on PH vehicles they have ‘passed’ they are still testing vehicles now. #-o

personally i would prefer a testing station that tells you when a vehicle is faulty I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying passengers in a car that wasn't safe

Indeed, as it's not just the passengers that are in the iffy motor. Its the driver as well.

Surely it's better to get the car checked and repaired BEFORE it goes for test? That way YOU know it's safe. I've never believed in using the statutory test to find out what's wrong with any vehicle.

I use the same garage but it doesn't matter how many times I ask for the vehicle to be serviced and any faults rectified be for the not and council inspection are done, they always test it first.
